METHODIST MINISTER ARRIVES Rev. Julian Aldridge and family are now in Highlands and Rev. Aldridge has begun his duties as pastor of the High lands Methodist Church. Rev. Aldridge, who is a native of North Carolina, began his schooling at Davidson College where he did under graduate work before giving service to our government as a lieutenant in the ariTQr. After the army. Rev. Aldridge attended seminary at Duke University where he received his B.D. degree. He then did postgraduate work at the Univer sity of Edinburgh, Edinburgh, Scotland. From Scotland Rev. Aldridge came back to North Carolina to a pastorate at VJhittier. After this pastorate he returned to Duke to complete his schooling. Jlrs. Aldridge, a native of West Virginia received both a B.A. and Mster’s degree in English at Duke University. The Aldridge's have one child, a daughter Rebecca, who is I-2 years old. HOSPITAL AUXILIARY NEWS There will be a training session for the women xfho are interested in being "Pink Ladies” at the Highlands- Cashiers Hospital, lirs. L.C. Van Nest will be the supervisor and the first meeting will be held Wednesday, July 3^ at 10:00 a.m. in the hospital recreation room. FIRST PLAY AT HOT "Barefoot in the Park," x^hich was described by Life Jlagazine as "One of the funniest comedies ever" x^rhen it first set New York theatregoers roaring with laughter in the fall of I963, will be presented by the Highlands Community Theatre July 11th through a Sunday mati nee, July litth.
